About Us

What’s our story?
In 2013, the Aerospace Structures and Materials (ASM) department founded its student society. Every student joining the MSc program within the ASM department becomes a member of the society.
Throughout the year, we organize various activities to connect you with your fellow students and to get in touch with the Aerospace (Structures & Materials) Industry related to your profile.
Furthermore, we are the soundboard for course feedback and other study-related issues.
Why “Enlightness”?
Enlightness is a name that reflects the dual focus of our student society — the pursuit of knowledge and the engineering of lightweight, high-performance structures. Rooted in Aerospace Structures and Materials, the name captures our dedication to exploring innovative, efficient, and sustainable design while fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration among students, researchers, and industry partners.
It’s a deliberate wordplay — and no, it’s not a typo. Enlightness represents our identity: serious about engineering, curious by nature, and open to new ideas. Through community-building, career development, and academic engagement, we aim to make the ASM journey lighter, brighter, and more meaningful for everyone involved.
Who is a member?
All students in the Master’s track in Aerospace Structures and Materials (ASM) at TU Delft are automatically part of Enlightness. Whether you’re just starting or deep into your thesis, there’s no need to sign up — if you’re in ASM, you’re in Enlightness. We’re here to support your journey, both academically and socially.
As a member, you’re welcome to join career events, company visits, course feedback initiatives, and community socials. Whether you attend or help organize activities, Enlightness is your space within ASM.
